Who Runs This Site
My name is Rob Bailes. I’m based in Maryland and I built RadonSafetyGuide.com because finding clear, trustworthy information about radon testing and monitoring is harder than it should be.
Most homeowners discover they need to think about radon during a real estate transaction or after reading about the health risks. From there it’s hard to know what to buy, what’s actually accurate, and which test kits or monitors are worth the money. I wanted to build a straightforward resource that helps homeowners understand their risk and choose the right product — without the runaround.
How This Site Makes Money
RadonSafetyGuide.com is supported by affiliate partnerships. We’re an Airthings affiliate, a SunRADON affiliate, and an Amazon Associate, which means we may earn a commission when you purchase a test kit or monitor through links on this site — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we believe are genuinely useful for homeowners, and our reviews and comparisons are based on EPA guidance, product specifications, and independent research.
Why Radon Matters
Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, responsible for an estimated 21,000 deaths per year according to the EPA. This isn’t a scare tactic — it’s why we built this site.
